COVID-19 Protocol Updates 5.4.21

April 28, 2021The North Carolina Governor’s Office issued a news release containing Executive Order No. 209: Removing the Outdoor Face Covering Requirement, Relaxing Restrictions on Gatherings, and Extending the Capacity and Social Distancing Measures of Executive Order No. 204.

According to the release, “under the new Executive Order, masks will still be required indoors but are no longer mandated outdoors. Masks are still strongly recommended outdoors by NC DHHS in crowded areas and higher risk settings where social distancing is difficult.”

MASKS/FACE COVERINGS

Players and coaches are no longer required to wear masks during tournaments or games, including while they are actively playing or on the fields.

Masks, which are now optional, are still recommended by the NC DHHS and players may continue to wear masks if they would like.

Spectators are not required to wear masks, however, based on the recommendations of the NC DHHS, and the fact that spectators are generally in the most crowded areas, moving around less, and in a setting where social distancing is more difficult, we continue to encourage our spectators to wear masks.

Please be respectful of others’ decisions regarding masks and face coverings.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

All visitors should maintain 6 feet of social distancing in lines at concession stands, restrooms and other high traffic areas.

We still recommend that our coaches and players practice social distancing in practice and game environments. This includes minimizing team huddles, not crowding in bench areas and spreading out as much as possible.

SYMPTOMS/ILLNESS

Parents, players and coaches should self-monitor for symptoms and stay home when experiencing any symptoms of illness. (See Health Symptoms Checklist.)

If a player is diagnosed with or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, parents must report this to their child’s team coach.

We’re glad to welcome you to Bob Lewis Ballpark!

Thank you for being respectful of everyone’s safety and comfort, and helping keep our players, coaches and their families safe by preventing the spread of COVID-19!
