Last weekend, we hosted 22 teams at Bob Lewis Ballpark for the 9/11 Never Forget Tournament. Activities were paused at 8:46 on Sept. 11 for a remembrance of that tragic day. There were many tears in the eyes of our fans and spectators.
In addition to local teams from Asheville, Brevard, Fletcher and Lenoir, we had visiting NC teams from Charlotte, Maiden, Wake Forest and Winston-Salem. We also hosted SC teams from Boiling Springs, Greenville, Greer, Mauldin and Summerville.
As a highlight and end to the weekend tournament, we had the three winning teams stop by the Enka fire station for photos in front of the fire truck with some of the firemen who graciously welcomed our players and their families.
